Christos Staff
Robin Fraser,
Twin Cities Coordinator
I found myself in a place of desiring more with God. After experiencing small group and individual spiritual direction, my experience of the Holy widened and deepened. A friend as well as a spiritual leader encouraged me to consider training for spiritual direction. The invitation at Christos to come as I am, wonder with God, practice listening to others, being listened to and reflecting in community all spoke to my soul.
Being connected to Christos throughout the years has been a gift in the role of learner, volunteer, facilitator and coordinator. Practicing the art of holy listening and preparing others to do the same continues to grow my faith and notice the Spirit’s invitations as I become more of who God has created me to be.
The journey of coming along-side others in their experience of God; paying attention to the life of God within each individual; offering moments to pause and let one’s story unfold is sacred, dear space. Eugene Peterson shares that, “It is easier to find guides, someone to tell you what to do, than someone to be with you in a discerning, prayerful companionship as you work it out yourself. This is what spiritual direction is.” I agree and am blessed beyond measure to be a part of the ministry of spiritual direction.
