Rhythms of Grace: A Fresh Look at the “Rule of Life”

A “Rule of Life” is a spiritual tool that empowers you to intentionally prioritize spiritual practices that nurture your intimacy and connection to God. In this playshop we’ll introduce Trevor Hudson’s “Cycle of Grace” as a framework to reflect on your soul-care rhythms and then provide you with an interactive, contemplative, and creative space to design (or to refresh) your personal “Rule of Life.” The presenter is Sandy Henkel.

Date: Saturday 16th November 2024, 8:30 am -12:30 pm

In person at Pleasant Hill Community Church, 26W401 Geneva Rd, Wheaton, IL 60187

ABOUT THE PRESENTER:

Sandy Henkel grew up in Houston and has been in the Midwest since graduating from Wheaton College in 1990. She and her husband live in Roseland, a neighborhood on the far south side of Chicago. Sandy graduated from the Christos Tending the Holy (TTH) Program in 2011 and currently serves as a Facilitator for the TTH program. She worked in full-time urban ministry for 30 years and then in 2021 she transitioned to dedicate her time and energy toward spiritual direction. Her passion is to companion those who have been historically marginalized, those serving in under-resourced or in inter-cultural contexts, and those with a burden for equity and justice. She enjoys kayaking, hiking, reading, journaling, collaging, walking labyrinths, and spending time with friends.
